The light intensity preset switch (a small green button labeled "PRESET" under the power switch) allows you to lock the brightness at a set level, no matter where the brightness knob is positioned.
Steps to Set the Preset Light Intensity:
-
Turn On the Preset Switch
- Press the green PRESET button to turn it ON.
- The button will light up, indicating it's active.
-
Adjust the Preset Brightness
- Use a small flat-blade screwdriver to turn the preset adjustment screw (located near the button).
- Turn clockwise to increase brightness.
- Turn counterclockwise to decrease brightness.
-
Understand How It Works
- When the PRESET switch is ON, the brightness knob won’t change the light intensity.
- When the PRESET switch is OFF, the brightness returns to what’s set by the brightness knob.
Factory Default Setting:
- The microscope comes with the preset brightness set to approximately 4V.
Troubleshooting Tip:
🔧 If your microscope light control is not working or you can’t adjust the brightness, you may have accidentally pressed this button. If the PRESET button is illuminated light green, it is active and overriding the brightness knob. Simply press it again to turn it OFF, and your brightness knob will function normally.
This feature is helpful for keeping consistent lighting during microscopy work!
