A message from Owner Scott D. Munday;
I started my microscope company repair business with help from my old friend and boss Klaus Dern of Micro Precision Company in Atlanta, Georgia. Klaus was a fine mechanic with Leitz/Wetzlar Germany, We worked alongside Vashaw Scientific, the Leitz/Leica Dealer for the southeastern United States. After many years working in the Atlanta office, I was sent to head service in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. In 1985, I went out on my own and moved my business to Sanford, NC. While there I was lucky enough to meet and become friends with Lenwood Cleaton, the Olympus Microscope sales manager. Lennie provided me the opportunity to be trained in Long Island, NY at the Olympus US Headquarters Service Department. During training I met Mike Gallo, the Olympus Service Manager. Several years later, Mike is working for Nikon and was kind enough to offer me training on Nikon microscopes. I still work and reside in Sanford with my wife Terri, 3 kids and 3 dogs.

I was working in the banking industry when my step father Scott asked me to join his Microscope Service company in 2011. I was reluctant but after a few months of asking, I left the bank and started down a new path. Scott showed me the ropes on a daily basis. I learned the repair business with immediate on the job training. We started selling more and more used equipment over the years. I fell in love with the sales and marketing aspect of the used laboratory business. We have grown the business together over the last several years and I'm beyond thankful for the opportunity. I've met so many friends through this business. Munday Scientific isn't the first family business I joined. I've worked with my Grandmother at Mrs. Lacys Magnolia House since 2002. I get up daily at 4:30 am and bake at our family restaurant before heading in to work with microscopes. After working in the restaurant business, I have to say the microscope thing is CAKE! I live in Sanford with my beautiful wife Samantha.
