If you’ve been a fan of the Yamato DKN602C or other models in the DKN series of forced convection ovens, there’s an important update to share. Yamato has officially replaced the DKN line with the newer DKV series, bringing meaningful improvements while maintaining the reliability labs have come to expect.
The DKN Series at a Glance
The DKN series, including models such as the DKN302C, DKN402C, and DKN602C, was widely used in laboratories for drying, curing, and general heating applications. These ovens were known for stable temperature control, programmable PID operation, and dependable safety features. For many labs, the DKN line became a trusted workhorse thanks to its balance of performance, ease of use, and long-term durability.
What’s New with the DKV Series
The new DKV series is a natural evolution of the DKN platform, designed to meet modern laboratory expectations without sacrificing thermal performance.
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the controller. The DKV series features a color LCD display that provides clearer visibility, easier navigation, and improved program monitoring compared to the previous generation. Operators can more easily view settings, confirm temperature status, and manage programs at a glance.
The DKV series continues to support multiple operating modes, including fixed temperature operation, timed runs, automatic start and stop functions, and programmable temperature profiles. These functions are now presented in a more intuitive interface, making daily operation simpler for both experienced users and new staff.
Design updates are another key improvement. The DKV ovens include refinements such as improved door handles and hinge mechanisms that enhance ergonomics and safety during sample loading and unloading. These small changes add up to a better day-to-day user experience.
Performance remains a strong focus. DKV models are available in chamber sizes comparable to the former DKN lineup and maintain high temperature accuracy and uniformity. The temperature range has also been refined to support a wide variety of laboratory applications with consistent results.
Safety and integration features have also been carried forward and improved. The DKV series includes built-in self-diagnostics and over-temperature protection, and select models offer communication options for data output or system integration in regulated lab environments.
What This Means for Customers
If you are currently using a DKN series oven or planning to replace one, the DKV series is the direct successor. It builds on the proven foundation of the DKN line while adding modern controls, improved usability, and updated design features.
For laboratories standardizing equipment, upgrading aging ovens, or outfitting new spaces, the Yamato DKV series offers a smooth transition with familiar performance and enhanced functionality.
